OpenMediaVault NAS setup, can internet facing services be hosted on same VM (in docker containers)?

In Summary :

I recently setup an OpenMediaVault VM to use as a NAS and possibly host some services (personal cloud, media server, music streaming, torrent client) in docker containers. I'm wondering whether this makes sense from a security standpoint or if I should keep Internet facing services separate (more separate than contained in docker), maybe in a separate VM? These services will be using the NAS for storage regardless of whether they are hosted in the same VM in docker containers or on a separate VM [...]
